What I've learned
This is under construction.
This is a page for what I've learned in life. There's a lot of stuff I can't think of at the moment but as I recall them, I'll add them.
- What you dwell on becomes your life.
- You create your own world by what you focus on and who you surround yourself with.
- You cannot run from who you are.
- You are in charge of your own life and can make choices based on what you want, of course there's always consequences.
- Without challenges in one's life, growth is hard if not impossible.
- People have bad days just like you do. Remember this next time a stranger seems pissy.
- Not being yourself around someone is a form of deception and, in a way, lying.
- We are not separate from nature. We are part of the food chain and must kill in order to live - whether we are taking the life of an animal or a plant. While living we provide food for mosquitos and several types of bacteria. Yes, mosquitos are important - they feed birds. In the end our bodies will nurture the soil that grows food for other animals to eat. Some ecosystems rely on human hunting to keep the balance - without the hunting the animals overpopulate, eating all the plant life killing off the then entire area.
- There is a difference between being religious and being a fundamentalist. For religious people it's just that the religion is a big part of their life. For fundamentalism, you push your views on others and you cease to think for yourself.
- There are times to speak up and times to remain silent.
- "Perfection" is subjective.
- You are not perfect and that's ok. You'll make mistakes, but those who really call you friend will know you're not perfect and look past your mistakes to see your true intentions.
